Happy 2nd Birthday Aubrey!

Our baby girl Aubrey turned 2 yesterday… Sounds cliche but it’s so true. Time really does fly…

We started the day off with going to Mass, then after hearing of the ‘out-the-door’ lines at Pancakes on the Rocks at Beverly Hills, lunch plans changed to Club Menai. Luckily there was one private room available to fit all 20 of us.

Afterwards, we went to a park in Oatley to search in the mud for some crabs… Aubrey had a blast in the mud with her brothers and sisters, and liked to dig into the mud and put them on top of the crabs in the bucket.

Farewell Evora…

We’ve finally had the chance to hold a ‘farewell ceremony’ for Aidan’s beloved budgie ‘Evora’ who flew to heaven a while ago. On that sad night, we had gathered his feathers and put them in an empty cereal box. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the cereal box (which most likely ended up in the recycle bin by accident), so Lani wrote a letter and a prayer for Evora and put it in a box to bury in our backyard.

I wish I kept a copy of the letter because it was beautifully written and as Aidan mentioned, didn’t say the word ‘death’…
